Schloss Heroldeck

A unique venue for retreats, conferences, camps or simply vacations.

The interior has been adapted for use as a small conference center and includes both dormroom accommodation and a separate guest house for couples or families. The almost idyllic setting of Alpine lakes and mountains makes a great venue for spiritual retreat or study.
- Location -
Schloss Heroldeck is situated on wooded northern slopes overlooking the Millstattersee. With the entrance driveway leading off the B98 just east of the village Millstatt, the property is less than 8 kilometres from the A10 autobahn linking Salzburg and Villach.

- Facilities -
To the front of the main building there is a south facing lawn and patio with open views across the lake. A variety of woodland paths onto the surrounding hills link directly to the Austrian footpath network. There is a path and tunnel under the B98 leading to a private lakeside dock. Accommodation includes a chapel & meeting room seating 100, comfortable lounge with open fire, a 30 seat classroom, and a coffee-shop on site. Public access telephones, basic internet and PA equipment are also available.

- Capacity -
Currently, we can accommodate approximately 100 people for a retreat or conference. The facility comprises Schloss Heroldeck (“the Castle”), and second property, "The Villa", located 50m up the driveway from the main building.

The Castle has 7 dorm style rooms with common bathrooms accomodating upto 60 people. There is also a guest room with private bathroom that is a comfortable size for a couple. Depending on the number of single guests and their ages, the Castle dorm rooms may be suitable for larger families.

The Villa has 12 rooms that have private bath or shower rooms, and a further 5 sharing 2 common bathrooms. All rooms in the Villa are fitted with washstands. The rooms vary in size from double to family size and most are flexible to accommodate couples, families, or a "dorm style" setup. In total the Villa could accommodate upto 40 adults.

Even during conference season, some of the rooms may not be available due to other commitments, but for summer retreats in excess of 40 people, the main facilities will be at the disposal of the retreat.
